hello,

I have a question on void sticker on the ecm plug.

I am hooking up a exhaust brake and want to put it in Pin #20

Will this void anything by removing the plug to put the wire in?

Is there a easy way to slip the plug out and not tear the sticker?

Any help would help me .

thank you

mike

I was able to carefully remove my VOID sticker from the ECM and after installing the #20 wire and tighting the allen screw I was able to reinstall the Void sticker.

You will need a very small wire to push out the plug, I thought I would be able to use a small drill bit no such luck 1/16 is to big, you will need a VERY VERY small drill or wire to get it out.

Good luck

See Ya

Chris

Try to carefully remove the void sticker, and replace it upon completion of the pin#20 operation. If you ruin it, post on the board... you might find someone with a new sticker (hint!)

I agree with all the above. Very carefully removed the plug and sticker came with it and just as carefully put back one when I done it. I used a very small numbered drill to push out the plug by the way. I cannot remember waht number it was Sorry!!!:(

Question does the dealer have a stock of these stickers to replace the ones they remove? Love to get ahold of a box of stickers. ;) Give them out to everybody on this site!!!

Edge products from what i heard provides new Void stickers with the VA. If that is correct, try calling them and buying some from them

I don't believe Edge carries the VA... it is one of their competitors... but there have been posts about the availability of those stickers... some have been "snuck across the border".

I don't see how Dodge could void your warranty for installing one of their aftermarket products in accordance with their instructions. Keep the instructions for evidence. In any case, I was able to remove the sticker and put it back after reconnecting the plug. The exhaust brake is a nice product and well thought out.

My dealer is installing the Jacobs exhaust brake prior to my taking delivery of our new truck - part of the "deal". It'll be interesting to see what the condition of the "void" sticker is when I get the truck!

EMD... not a bad idea... if someone got their's off in one piece, you could photocopy it in color onto the plastic overlay sheets. I used to do this for briefings at work. Then, cut it out, maybe six or eight to a page, send them to people... add a touch of adhesive and stick it on!

Probably not quite tat simple, but an idea!
