Anybody running an external voltage regulator? Having electrical issues I believe are comming from my PCM, was wanting to bypass my PCM if possible.

There are some doing that , but I've found that the problem is almost always outside of the PCM , connections whatever ,

Check everything else, then go to an external regulator if it is the PCM. ALso, my volt gauge lies to me like a politician- it wil say 12vots, then I put the meter on the battery terminals, and it says 14. I just run it. These gauges werent the best when new, and they ARE getting old.

The gauge is fine when it does charge, just on cold mornings when the intake heater tries to come on (WTS light comes on) the alternator quits charging. I have done a lot of reading on this, and have narrowed it down to the PCM. So I now am at a point to buy a PCM or a voltage regulator, which I just got done ordering from the Dodge dealer, the regulator that is. It probably will not work, but I would rather start with the cheaper of the two. I am getting sick of charging my battery when I get to work.
