Regarding the homepage article. On Thursday morning I got out of my pickup, 05 3500 auto to talk to a guy hauling grain for me. As we were talking one of the guys working at the elevator started jumping and waving. I got around the semi in time to watch the p/u go the last 20 feet before hitting and breaking off a fire hydrant about 1 1/2 blocks away. I felt pretty stupid, and needless to say in a town of 1300 the news spread fast. The kids in school had to eat on paper plates as they had no water to wash dishes! Luckily cast iron and sheetmetal can be replaced... nobody got hurt. Make sure you're in park!!

Was the parking brake applied also, and the engine simply overcame the parking brake, or was that not set? At any rate, the only injury was to your pride. Looks like the recall should be happening in the next few months for that though.

The parking brake was not set, however it is now!

Joined last May. Read alot, not a whole lot of time to post. Started reading before I bought the truck last December. You guys had had alot to do with my puchase decision, drove a 97 F-350/7. 3 before this.

exactally why the parking brake is put there by the manufacture... slushbox or stick, i always use mine. .

Thank The E-brake

When I drove from Oregon to Missouri to get stationed. what happened to me was I would stop set the e-brake and put it in park the indicator digital stick would go away. I wouldnt catch this untill coming back to the truck seeing the reverse lights on and get in the cab. and there would be no indicator light on the panel.



this was over a year ago this happed about 5 times the dealership here fixed it. cant remember what was wrong.
