When I was in Sweden a few months back, we took the tour of the car plant. The tour started in an auditorium that seated about 120. There was our group of 8, and probably 50 others- everyone I spoke to was from the US. While we were there for business. . turned out everyone else was picking up a car.
As I found out, the incentive exceeds the plane fare and lodging. I dont recall the exact rules and logistics, but there was one loophole about the mileage, so folks were planning trips to sightsee and put the required mileage on the car before putting it on a ship. I talked to several people, the common thing was retiree's and school teachers out of work.
I heard no negative feedback, everyone was happy with the program. People from my group (incl myself) were so turned on from the tour and the purchase program, that we were ready to sign on the dotted line.
Actually, one thing I did hear was the fact that many people had to inform their stateside sales-person of the program. Other claimed they had to slip their sales- person a C note to inspire them.
Good luck- Enjoy Sweden-I love it over there---
