

Code 1689. Crank in park or neutral. Put in gear. Truck dies immediately. If I raise throttle to around 1200 and put in gear she doesn't die. The VP-44 is about 5 months old and the pump wire has not been molested.

The later years use the cam sensor instead of a crank sensor. I highly doubt the crank sensor is causing your problem as you should see symptoms of you tach being erratic. But there could the maybe syndrome.
