vp 44 fixed, ULTIMATE fuel delivery system installed
Have a 45 gallon bed tank gravity feeding to a fuel/water separator, then on to a BOSCH 287 liters per hour pump with a 1/2" inlet 1/2" outlet. Then to a return style regulator (to 14 PSI) then onto the vulcan big line kit (1/2") the stock return line converts to 3/8 (AN 6) hose to the bed tank. It will be rigged so that I can transfer fuel from the stock tank via OEM carter lift pump to the bed tank; additionally, I can transfer fuel from the bed tank to the jetta diesel at 14 PSI instead of 7 PSI as before, so much faster. The new pump pulls 10 amps and is run by a fused separate relay. I have a turn signal mounted momentary switch that is held until the oil pressure switch closes to keep the fuel pump relay latched. The engine starts very quickly!
I also have the OEM fuel filter heat insulated from the manifold so hopefully my VP 44 woes are GONE!
