I've got a p-1693 code, Plenty of fuel on the vp side of the canister, cycled the key,and cracked 1,3,4,and 5 injector lines. Some fuel from lines 4 and 5. Tightened injectors and of course,no start. Should I order a new vp-44? If so, are some better than others? Appreciate any help.

If you're reading the codes off the odometer... let it cycle through for a minute. The 1693 is a general error code off the PCM. It doesn't tell you much.

You have to wait until it gives you the read-out on the ECM. If you have a 216 code along with that 1693 it might be time to replace the VP.

what mike said! If you have the 0216 with it, than it's time to join the club :{ You do have to wait to see the "pdone" twice. Any other symtoms?

Very few codes have ever showed up on my ODO check. I've always had to go to AutoZone or the other place and get them checked out. Do you have incoming fuel pressure readings to the VP? That is the first place to start after that you need to get a reader and see what other codes you have.
