The dealer just changed my pumps out and now I have the in-tank pump, My idea is to put a 8 psi carter where the original lift pump was located. Now my question is: The new in-tank pump uses the stock pigtail plug to fire a relay to power that pump. Can I splice into those 2 wires to run my 8 psi pump? If so, does it matter which wire is hooked up to either post on the new 8 psi pump?

No other pump brand recomendations please.

Thanks Phil :D

I did just about what your doing here. I put the pigtail back to the OEM pump and rigged up the in-tank pump relay to a toggle switch in the cab. The in-tank now comes on as soon as the key is turned to the "run" position.

This allows me to turn it off if I need to (checking a system that requires the key turned on or the like).

I used a pigtail that is included with lift pump kit, spliced into both wires to attach to the 4600. Real clean install and rock solid 15 psi idle and no less than 12 psi wot with 5r in tow. . :D :D

As far as the wiring goes, the shop mannual says the yellow/white is + and the black/white is - ... ... ..... FWIW
