I have been getting a p0216 inj timing error for a long time. It has been getting worse. I use to be able to clear it and it would stay gone for awhile. Now it only stays gone for a minute or so. My trans finally started to go out so I will be getting a full DTT soon. But now I have a rough idel and I get p0743 conv clutch (which is probably my bad trans so no biggie there). But also p0320 Ing speed P0389 crank pos b int. Could these all be a VP44 or do I also have a crank position sensor out too. I was just about to take it in for the trans but now I feel I may need to put a VP44 in first. Also my generator regulator went out in the computer a few days ago too. This poor thing is falling apart fast.

Don't know about that code... . I never had it.

I replaced the cam position sensor as a part of a time consuming and expensive trouble shooting process over 3 months and 5K miles. I was in denial and it cost me damn near as much as the pump replacement. I was throwing money and parts like the ~$35 sensor since it was a cheap try. The 0216 code would always come back along with my driveability symptoms. Final cure was the new VP44, and no problems since. I have watched other posts here on 0216 codes and same symptoms I had, and to my knowledge no one has ever solved it without a new pump.

Do you have "symptoms"... . random episodes of no throttle response/no power from dead start/lots of smoke revving up in park or neutral? Also, for me, I didn't need the symptoms to throw the code again. I'd have it cleared... . drive for 5 miles with no symptoms... check for codes, and it was back.
