Hey everyone,

My truck has about 170,000 miles on it, so I suppose the vp44 could quit any time or it may last a while I don't know. Anyway I was just wondering whether I would be best off getting a new one or a reman pump, or do they even make new ones anymore? Also what are the prices of each, and where is the best place to get them? And if somebody could, please tell me what the difference is between the new and reman is.

Thanks,

CORY

You may have life left in your pump, check your lift pump presures and check to see if there are any codes set in referance to the VP44. If not I would run it untill it showed signs of a problem, then get a new hot rod pump and a fass lift pump.

Reman about 900 & I was qouted 1400 new at Cummins Mid South, proberly could get it for less else where.

then get a new hot rod pump

I have seen this term mentioned before. What does this mean? Is this an aftermarket pump that the pressure is tweaked up on or is this something else? Who makes or does, the modifications to create this Hot Rod Pump:confused:

Just curious as to more information about this. :)

There is a new vp44 on ebay for $850 right now. Also cumminsstuff.com is about the cheapest for vp44's. Last I heard, cummins stuff had them for 850 plu 200 core...

I have checked the lift pump pressure and it is fine, its just that the truck used to miss out a litte at an idle then it would stop once I would rev it up, but it hasn't done this for a couple of months. Still does anybody know the difference between a new and reman pump?

Thanks,

Cory
