how do you mean "it wont run right"? just trying to understand... heard of people doing it before but never heard the outcomes. .

It will run, but the performance might not be the same. If I remember correctly, the HO pump has smaller flow internals, but different software on the internal controller. The SO pump has higher flow internals, but again a less tuned internal controller.

The pumps will work on either truck, but you might have a slightly lower performance with the SO pump. Functionally, it should work fine (assuming that there is nothing wrong with the replacement pump).

ok think i got it... i was just wondering because im getting prepared to have to replace mine. . have 152000 miles with the stock vp. .

Get a replacement from Industrial Injection in Salt Lake City. They make the Hot Rod and other dependable pumps.

Just my $0. 02

SO pump should work fine on HO truck, just need a fuel box to bring out the extra HP. SO truck can't run a HO VP.
