Hey all, a good friend of mine has an 2000 CTD 5speed. I put FP Gauge in it and found a dead LP. I replaced that and reinstalled his Superchips tuner (90hp). It is fairly responsive at low rpm, but if you are running down the road in 3rd, 4th, or 5th gear and mash the pedal, it is really dead. I tried my Edge EZ and my DS PowerPuck, but they didn't make much difference. I tightened all the hose clamps and checked for holes in the intake tubing but found nothing. I had my Snap-On scanner on it and found NO codes and the boost is ok too. With the Puck, max boost is about 28, but it is really slow getting there after the low end is gone. I'm wondering if the VP44 is crapping out, although there aren't any other signs of it dying. Anyone have any ideas?

Is the fuel pressure ok if you check it after the fuel filter? Did you put a new fuel filter on it after you changed the lift pump? There should be no less than about 6 psi under load after the fuel filter and about 10 prefilter.
 
Yup, done all that, everything checks ok. Still ain't figgured out what is causing it to be so doggy past 1800 rpm. Anyway, if anyone else has any ideas, speak up. Thanks!
