Well my week started off with a bang, and not as a prelude to the 4th of July:confused:.

Monday morning my injection after 240,000 miles died (in my driveway) with codes of 0253,1688 and 1689. 1st time I buy pump diesel since winter and my Injection pump pukes, was the lubrication of the biodiesel holding it together?

Today I have been pulling things out getting ready for the new VP44 and I notice my harmonic balancer in missing large pieces of rubber in several spots .

I am looking into getting a Fluidampr to replace it and I wanted to know if they are worth the cost of $414. 95 ?

So here is my list of replacement parts.

1 Bosch VP44 Injection Pump

1 Fluidampr balancer

1 water pump (replacing 240,000 mile original)

1 set of new hoses

1 new belt

1 new front seal

1 new cam position sensor (replacing 240,000 mile original)

Did I miss anything?

thanks

Kyle

Well I am wrapping up my parts list and does anyone know where I can get a set of grid heater gaskets other than Cummins? Or can I use a good gasket maker sealant instead? There is this stuff made by permatex that comes in a can like chez wiz that works great that I was thinking of using.

Its been weird having the truck down for over a week, I have managed to get some back maintance items out of the way like replacing rear rotors with drilled and slotted ones and axle seals, new front main seal, new water pump, new belt, new hoses, balance and rotate 7 tires and wheel(I have Alcoa Alum. wheels so I have to break down all tires a wheels to do a rotation).
