Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) VP44 fuctionality test?

My truck died a couple minutes after starting it, and I have not been able to get it to fire since... first time for this. FASS fueling, and pressure good to VP44. Cranks over great. No codes. Is there a simple test for the hi-press pump to make sure it's trying to deliver fuel?

I believe over on blue chip diesel's website they have testing procedures.
