I Have talked to three shops, and have two answers. How much pressure from the lift pump to the VP44 is to much? I have installed a Holley Blue Pump pushing through the factory pump. When I first installed, my Attitude read 15-18 psi dropping to 9-10 under full throttle. Now, a couple of weeks later, I'm seeing 26-30 psi dropping to 20 under full throttle. Will 30psi hurt the VP44?

I dont think the excess is to much cause whatever the pump doesnt pull it sends directly back to the tank. I would be more worried about a restriction in your line that is giving you that much pressure. If my mind serves me correctly a holley blue should only push about 22 max. Maybe thats the black Im not sure.

i dont know if there is a good answer to this. I have heard both sides. I hear a lot that anything over about 20 is too much and can damage the VP, but i have also heard there is no such thing as too much. I dunno, personally i would be a little nervous about pushing 26-30 through mine. With the glacier i see a pretty constant 15 with a 1-2 psi drop at wot

I do know this from experience. If you have more than 20 you will have starting problems. About causing damage I don't know. But I have mine adjusted to about 18 and works great.

I haven't had any starting problems yet(fingers crossed). I still have the regulator that came with the pump, I can't figure out why the pressure jumped all of a sudden. Doese anyone make a hose assembly that bypasses the OE lift pump?

When I put my walbro pump on, at first it was pushing 28-30. It would start, But after running awhile, then stop somwhere, go back to start again and it wouldn't. I had to drain down the pressure at the fuel filter then it started right up. How I found out about that was a friend of mine had the same problem with his truck when he put a FASS pump on. After I adjusted the pressure down below 20 havn't had any problems.

Secondly, if the Attitude is the only pressure indication you have, I would suggest maybe getting another guage. My attitude sending unit and my in cab guage sending unit are tapped at the same spot. My Attitude indication jumps around quite abit between 15 and 20, whereas my other guage (which is a dual pressure guage monitoring prefilter and IP pressures) stays rock solid. It just makes me wonder about the accuracy of the attitude sending units.

As far as bypassing the stock lift pump. I dont know what you have because your sig is not filled in. But if you are still runing stock fuel lines. I would suggest getting the big line kit from Geno's. It made a world of difference on my truck by stabilizing the fuel pressure. Also it would make it a peice of cake to just go around your stock lift pump

Thanks for the help! I'm new, and haven't figured out how to put my truck info on. It's a 2001 2500 QC 4X4, built automatic w/ suncoast triple lock converter and Hughes pan, 4. 5" lift,BD super B turbo,AFe intake,ARP 12mm headstuds(lost head gasket twice) MBRP 4" exhaust, Just upgraded (I think) from edge comp to Juice w/ Attitude w/ hot unlock, Stage 3 Edge Jammer nozzles,Auto meter Boost,Pyro and trans temp and a Holley Blue pump.
