Thats great! It would have been a real bummer to get a new pump and have the same issues.
How do you come up with $3k in repairs? If you are a mechanic replacing a VP is very simple. The only special tool you need for the job is the gear puller. I bought my pump through Chip and he loans them out for free, you simply return it along with your core when your finished.

You mean a Dodge dealer? They will not warranty their pumps without installing a new in tank lift pump. I wonder if they included that in their price.:

Bad news electrical plug did not fix my truck Inj.Pump and Lift pump along with a low pressure warning light on the way from Blue Chip!Be here Thursday will install Friday.

That's a real bummer. FYI the low pressure lights come on at around 2-3 psi, way too low and is hard on the VP Running at that low of pressure. A fuel pressure gauge is a must on the VP equipped trucks IMO. Having a gauge has saved my arse a few times.

been thinking about this all week and figured I think Im going to pull my fuel tank off and check inside,, that way the entire fuel system has been checked .perticulary looking at the sock filter and all lines.I dont know if it has a in tank pump or not I know it has a lift pump on the engine, I bought the truck used with 52K from a Dodge dealer Locally. We will see.

Also looking for new pump, and found that Blue Chip Special X also has Bosch rebuilt computer.
Still thinking of going that route, but still researching looking for the right pump, hopefully
with new board. For this much money I just feel it needs to be new.

Blue chip has 2 special X pumps one has a new comp. one dont Just got finished with my special X install and airdog pump as of now my problem seems to be gone I hope it stays that way

My understanding on the Special X pumps are they are only beneficial if you are running no programmer because he does the same advancements in the pump that a programmer would normally do. So if you are running something with added timing and fueling you might want to call and talk to them on that as a standard pump with new computer may be the more cost effective way to go.

Hey MMonday what made you go with Blue chip, last I read you looked to be leaning toward
Industrial Injection? Did you talk to one or both?

Also, has any one heard of Advanced Metal Pumps, good or bad?

And thanks to everyone out there contributing to these forums.

Details of a bad core! Most others if its wore out dont have to give $$$back Blue chip only requirements were Broken case ,Dissassembled, and something else but I met that criteria and no upfront charge

That is a testament to how many new components go on his pumps compared to some others. Pricey yes, but more like a new pump than a reman.

Well its been over a week so the Vp44 fixed my truck(YAHOOOO) 19 MPG ave. Since I have adj. valves and changed oil and changed my air filter!

special X pump is more comparable to a HO pump. It has many of the same benefits and limitations. A standard replacement pump with a new computer can be had for under $1000.
