Major thanks to mgoncalves for letting me try out his comp box and test my fuel pressure. Did a search on fuel pressure and got about a million different threads so started a post here. What fp are you seeing with your stock VP44? At idle I am 14 psi, WOT I am down around 4 psi. Wheres yours at?

i am at about 10 psi at idle and around 5 at WOT. But my LP also has 122,000 mile under its belt. I think DC recommends replacing them at less than 7 psi at idle???

Well I talked to the Dealership this morning while making an appt. for that ever annoying Steering Wander  and asked their service manager what specs are for the VP44 @ Idle and @ WOT. Idle should be 14-15 psi. WOT no less than 7 psi. Looks like DC may be putting a new pump in my truck :( We'll see what they have to say on Friday!

I'm sure you understand this, but the pressures you quoted are what the VP-44 needs to have delivered to it. Asking:

What fp are you seeing with your stock VP44

could be a little misleading.

Hope I'm not coming across as a jerk. Your idle FP sounds great, but your WOT sounds a bit low, maybe you could use a new Fuel filter? Good luck,

jason

well due to every dodge dealer i talk to giving me different out of spec pressures i have contacted cummins tech support team in Arlington. I will post from them what answer i get to the cummins definition of out of spec. lift pump pressures.
