Is there any benefit to purchasing a Bosch reman VP44 vs. a reman VP44 from a reputable aftermarket builder? Does Bosch have access to better parts, electronics, and/or test equipment? Bosch reman pumps are slot more expensive than anyone else.

Thanks

I did some Googling and overwhelming answer is rebuilt by a Bosch certified tech, which many aftermarket vendors have. So, that's what I would look in an aftermarket vendor.

Hope that helps,

Take a look at blue chip diesel. They have been in the vp44 reman game from very early on and have had a very good reputation with their remans. I also think their warranty is one of if not the best out there
Years ago when I had my own vp44 issues I got one from mwfi, the price was right,12 month warranty and had no issues with it. However not sure they are still around or not. Iirc mwfi= midwest fuel injection

I got mine https://www.thoroughbreddiesel.com/15xvp441yr/, see signature for when.
They, as are many others, a BOSCH certified rebuilder and use all the latest and greatest parts to help your VP have a long healthy life. I recommend them. Suggestion, don't bother trying to squeeze a few more HP with one of the Monster or other juiced up pumps offered out there. IMO, and what was told to me has read strong, "if you want more HP stick with the stock pump and do the 'correct' power adders". Remember bigger sticks, fueling boxes mean more fuel in, if you don't add more air too you'll get more power but EGTs will get too hot if you don't use a "combination" of correct items, I.E. appropriate Turbo for power range, cold air kit and of course you should address the weakest link "before" adding power = Auto Trans or Clutch. You'll fry em up if you don't, seen it many times. Add power to stock trans/clutch just can't hold up (too long anyway) to the additional power/torque added, which they weren't designed to contend with. Hope this helps and doesn't get too many people upset. Remember this Forum is about sharing and often times one's opinions don't jive with others'. Just "MHO".
