Just got the truck back a few hours ago from a VP44 swap under warranty.

Boost is not coming on as strong as it was before. Drives great normally but when I want play it doesnt feel like it did. Mods are just an EZ, BHAF and a MBRP 4" turboback. It still hits 30 psi+ but it takes forever compared to before. What can I do?

Thanks,

Sean

The 1693 and 1689 codes have returned. I dont have 10 miles on this new VP44. :( Truck started burping a high idle and not run worth a crap!!!

ez is off now and codes are still current and truck is still down on power! Feels like it is getting choked.

What is the reasoning of taking off the EZ? It has been on the truck for over 6 months without a problem.

Thanks,

Sean

Simple troubleshooting... . Eliminated one possible cause of the problem... .

I'd take it back to the dealer and tell 'em it's low on power... . and see what they say... .

How would I know if the put the right pump on there?

A 3 cylinder 1974 Pacer would whoop my ***** in this truck right now:D

Truck is back at the dealer.

Thanks,

Sean

Had a friend with an 02 HO with the same problem. It wasn't setting any codes. The dealer gave him the runaround and told him that the new pumps had less pressure. He stayed on their case until they put another new pump on and it fixed the problem. There is a number for the SO and one for the HO but I don't remember them. His truck was so bad that it would only run 65 mph on a flat road with a small gooseneck and tractor. We checked these numbers and they were right but it didn't have much power. Most dealers will tell you anything to get the truck out of the shop. I'm sure someone will post these numbers. Let us know what happens.

Got the numbers written down, I will make sure it is right when I get it back. This almost makes me to steer clear of these 2nd gens. I just dont have time for these kind of problems, that probably goes for most us though.

Thanks!

Sean
