Archived vp44 test?

Is there a way to manually test a lift pump or test a VP-44 because my 98 24 valve is dead in the water just up and died with no lights in dash, noises or anything?

Not that I know of. You need to check for codes.

cummins does have a vp44 tester that plugs directly into the vp44 and overrides the ecm.

If it just flat out died, I would check the Crank Positioning Sensor. When they fail, the engine will just quit and not start again. It can do this with out leaving any codes also.



If you have a p0216, p1688, or p1689, get ready to buy a new VP44.
