Welcome aboard!

The VP44 is the electronically controlled fuel injection pump used on 24v Cummins Dodge trucks from 98. 5-2002. It replaced the mechanical "P-pump"in mid 1998 and was itself replaced by "common rail" injection in 2003. It came from the factory in SO (standard output) ands HO (high output) models, and can be gotten from aftermarket rebuilders in "hotrod" and "monster" styles.

Thanks guys for the responses. This site is awesome! I'm learning so much from you guy's about my truck. I had to have mine replaced also. I really didn't notice that it was out until we went to change the fuel filter and noticed we couldn't get it primed. Thanks 24v-dsl for the information on the web-site. It's nice to know their is such a group close to home. Thanks again all. John
