Attention: TDR Forum Junkies 
had 1980 rabbit pickup since new. got real good at head gaskets. ran away on it's oil at 70,000. replaced short block then found out about the replacement breather hose kit with the extra drainback ("Y") hose. the tolerance between piston and cylinder wall new is less than . 001. If the wear is excessive engine will start smoking at idle but will clear up with rpm. I now have a 83 quantum turbo diesel i bought at 185,000. rebuilt it and have 50,000 on it and just got rear ended and totaled the car. they will probably give me 500. 00 for the whole car. Lost my good transportation even if the car is a little rough.
