Hi Guys,

I have been keeping my eyes open for a nice W-350 but have not been able to find one that doesn't have high milage or a high price. I have been toying with the idea of converting my W-250 over to a dually. I have looked at the Arrowcraft kits and would have about $1400 in 6 steel rims, a set of fenders, and dually adaptor hubs. Does anyone have any other ideas? Can I just put longer studs on my Dana 70 and install the correct dually rims? What needs to be done to the front wheels/hubs? Is a normal W-350's rear axle narrower than a single rear wheel truck? Can I run 235/85R16 tires on a dually? Finally, does anyone have a set of stock dually rims they would sell me? Thanks for the help. I feel this is the best way for me to go because my truck is paid for, it is in great shape, and I know what I have in it and what it is capable of. Oh yeah, I do have the 1 ton brakes already.

Jeremy

A dually has a totally different set of front hubs and rear hubs and the dually dana 70 has larger bearings as well. You could convert but it might just be easier to buy a truck like the one you want. The brakes also have to be changed out on the rear and I believe that the calipers on the front axle are different as well.

Hey Jeremy:

Have you looked around in junkyards? You could try to find a dually rear end, by the way, i thought there was one in the classifieds section under drivetrain. You could make/buy a flat bed and install it rather than modifing the old bed.

Jeremy,

There is a 93 CTD W350 Dually standard cab with a meyers plow for $7500 down the street from me. Its an automatic ,2 tone blue, LE package. the rear fenders are cracked and its share of dings, but not a bad looking truck. If you like, I can get some photos.

John, I have not looked in the junkyards yet for any parts, I was planning on doing some calling today. I figured I could get a set of used rims from the junkyard rather than buying some new ones.

CrewCab, I appreciate the offer for pictures, but the truck you are talking about has seen a bit more use than I would like. I am kind of scared of trucks that have a snow plow on them (especially after seeing some of the local guys plow snow around here).

I think I have most of the problems ironed out in my truck and just don't want to get a different truck that is going to be a rebuild project. But anyway, thank you for the ideas. I want to look at all of my options before I start into something.

Hey Case!:)

Do you remember the beautiful W350 that 4020Deere was looking to sell a few months ago?

The truck was in incredible condition & locted over in Iowa near the Mississippi River. He was asking a fair price for it for it's impeccable condition... Almost rivaled "GENE H's" truck for being clean!

I wonder if he still has it???

I can vouch for the quality of the Arrowcraft dually conversion kits. I converted a F-250 4x4 once. The only giveaway that it wasn't factory was the IFS front end. If you have a rig that you "trust" and "know", then it is a great way to go.

I almost converted my '97 Dodge v-10 to dually to aid in packing around my camper, but when the price of fuel began to rise, I traded it in on an '01 dually diesel.

Yep, I still have the truck and it is still for sale. if you want some good pictures and more info, just shoot me an e-mail and I'll send them to you (too large to post here).

Truck for sale?!!!

Well a bit of good news. I found a nice W-350 that I can afford if I sell my truck. I need to go look at the truck yet. So my question is, does anyone want to buy my truck? I would like to get $10,000 for it. See my signature for modifications. The only thing not shown in the signature is new 235/85R16E Daytona 10-ply tires. Please let me know if anyone is interested. It is a good solid 1992. Thanks,

Jeremy
