Has anybody tried them? I looked at this info and really like the aluminum step design. http://www.waag.com/sidetube.php

If you like them, where did you get them?

A budy of mine bought a 3500 and added the WAAG steps. I've been shooting pix as he does the mods, he's writing his reviews and thoughts of the mods/products. I've been building a site and starting with putting together some content 1st. . your welcome to take a look at the pix (click on the thumbnails for a larger view). .

is the link to the pix, but no words yet.

I can tell you he was very happy with the kit and all the hardware. He loves the steps and I can tell you that they look sharp.

Bobk-
Those are fantastic pictures!!! Just what I was looking for. I have frame mounted Tork-Lift Camper tie-downs and I wanted to get the Waag's but was concerned that the mounting would interfere (nobody was able to tell me). Your pictures show that this will not be a problem.

If I could ask you of one more favor, could you provide the exact distance from the body "lip" to the outside edge of the Wag tubing. I have to make sure that my chains running from the tie-down point to the camper do not interfere. Also, are the Waag's somewhat adjustable. Thanks,

I have those same steps on my Patriot Blue 3500 and really like them. Contact WAAG from their website and they will find a distributor in your area or else have a local truck accessory place contact WAAG to purchase them for you. The aluminum step comes black unless you specify the brite finish (unpainted) BTDT.

That rear step is a must for getting stuff out of the bed of the truck on a 4x4 3500.

edit: It is 6 3/4" from the body panel lip under the the front of the bed to the outside of the step and there is approx 3/4" of in/out adjustment. Mine are adjusted all the way in for the 6 3/4" measurement. If you look straight down, the side of the bed sticks out a little more than the step.

Hi Bobk,

H. O. RAM,
Sorry I don't remember who made his visor. .
I'll email him and ask. He had it painted to match that great Patriot Blue.
He will be adding words about the steps and visor on that page. .
soon or later. . Soon or later the whole site
will be opened.

He did a J'brake install (I helped very little, mostly took pix and pulled the stock elbo and installed the elbo with the brake) and he just finishing putting the words against the pictures for that.

To tell you the truth I'm not much for Visors, but I really do like his Visor. It was a no drill mounting and doesnt over power the great lines of the truck, in fact it does a nice job of adding to the lines.

SSJL, thanks for posting the measurements for Dave. Saves me a trip. . not that I didn't want a reason to drive my truck to go talk about trucks with a buddy...
I'll send him a link to this thread so he can chime in.

Bob

Thanks for all the info guys. Looks like it's a great product.
Waag told me that they have no local area dealers in my state. Is anybody ordering off the net or through a catalogue?

Some more help would be appreciated. #ad

Dave,
I'll take a ride over to my buddy's house and take a scale to it. At the front part of the rear dually fender, it is a bit close. If your not carefull, your toes hits the fender panel. It has to be about 3 inches or so. . If he's home tonight, I'll get a measurement for you.
How far back from the front edge of the lower panel's lip do you want to measure the distance of the lip to the tube?

Bob

Kevin;

Did a quick search on the web and found these places that seems to sell the WAAG stuff on line.
http://www.suvbrushguards.com/
http://www.urbanjunglesuv.com/waag_product_index_urban_jungle.htm
http://www.autoseattle.com/waag.htm
http://www.pickupspecialties.com/waag.htm
http://www.americanautoparts.com/

I know nothing about these places. . just found em during a search...
You could always call WAAG and ask them about these companies.

I just got my side kicks put on last week.
the product is put together very nice, if you have a camper you will most likly have to move your front tie down bars , I had to remount the ones on my truck.
If you are going to order them , do not think they will be here next week , it took them 7 weeks to get the ones i ordered to me.
i do like them and i added a daimond plate sheet to the inside to give the truck the pertection of the running board and the look of a bar .
good luck .

RICHI
Do you have the Tork-Lift tie-downs? If so, what area interfered with the Waag step bars? I can adjust the angle of the Tork-Lift, but I cannot move them from their mounted location.

I guess I better start answering some questions here. That's my truck in bobk's link. I didn't know he posted that site.
WAAG nerfs are top quality, right down to the mounting brackets and hardware. The best part is that there is no drilling involved. All the bracket work uses exisiting holes in the frame rails. Very well thought out. The installation in my driveway took about 2 hours for both sides. Adjustment however is very minimal, only about 2 inches in or out.
The bars suit my needs as I had to be able reach over the bed rail to "pull the pin" when dropping our 33ft 5th.

H. O. RAM: The visor is a Lund but described as a "new style". As such there is no drilling except for the end brackets which mount on the inside door jam under the weather strip. Very clean installation and I like the way it compliments the truck lines.

HEMIdart: I like those too. Very different.

Dressleral no they are not tork lift but the design is the same, the trouble is the nufbar is the same mounting height as the bar that is mounted to your truck for the tie down , so when you slide your bar in , it would go right threw the nurfbar, what the shop did for me was remove it and put it below the nurfbar after I had them installed the way I like them.
now what the shop did was to put one piece across the truck and moved it forward a little not to block the driveline if I had to have it removed, it ended up that the chain is almost at the same angle as the back cain is , not the stright up an down, so far no change of any kind that I can see, it took the shop about a hour to make the changeover.
hope this helps and it is still worth the time.

Hey thanks RICHIE! I still have to make some measurements, but my Torklifts allow me to adjust the angle (I can point them downward more if I care to). The only concern is if the chain will come up through the nerf bar.
