I have a question, Why does anyone care what they did with slavery over 150 years ago? Its over and a long time ago. Were they breaking a law at the time, NO. Who cares I'm tired of this political correctness!

This is just a lot of crap. My 6th GGF owned 1200 acres of what is now Andrews AFB. He was a planter... grew tobacco. Concidering he lived in the late 1700's, I never had the opertunity to meet the gentleman, but I think it's a safe bet that he didn't work the land with the old John Deere tractor. Yes, he was a slave owner, but there is no way on this earth that I need to apologize for his actions. Unfortunatley, slavery was SOP for that era in our history, plain and simple. All this reparations, and need for apolgizing for what happened prior to our existance is just a bunch of garbage. I guess we need to apologize to England for kicking their butt not once, but twice... . gawd, people need to get a life.....

I think what irritates me the most is all these ignorant political correct types meddling in the current American businesses and causing government regulation that makes doing business in the US difficult. How many millions do companies put out doing research to see if anyone anywhere in the past 400 years possibly maybe might have own a slave or done some other dastardly deed (that was legal at the time)?



If they were really against these atrocities then do work NOW to prevent companies from sending jobs overseas to countries that CURRENTLY use slave labor, child labor, unsafe inhumane working condtions.



All the middle eastern countries oppressing woman and keeping them from education, medical care, and then just abusing them... sounds like a slave to me.



Southeast asia using sweat shops, child labor, and communist oppressive governments reaping the profits of its citizens hard labor.



The part of africa that isn't falling over dead from AIDS or Ebola is busy trading each other as slaves as we speak. Who do these idiots think is mining all that pretty green marble being put into the buildings we like so much. Sure as hell isn't a highly paid union worker.



Sure slavery sucks. When I meet a slave, I'll be empathetic to their plight and do what I can to help but I'm not going bend over backwards to someones excuse for not pulling themselves up by their boot straps and getting a job or getting an education and making themselves a better person.



I've pulled All my accounts from Wachovia and told them why. I hope that more people do the same. Let the dead slave owners appologize to the dead slaves and resolve the issue in whatever place they reside now.



All those idiots demanding appologies, go do some work where it matters.



God I feel better now.....

I never owned a slave, and I dont believe there's anyone alive in this country that's been enslaved by an American.

I'm sure slavery is still going on over in Arab countries, Africa, and probibally some others.



What's the point in even bringing up what company benefitted in slavery hundreds of years ago?



The minorities of this country have been given plenty kick starts in the forms of Affarmitive action, Govt programs, etc.

Why does it seem like were apologizing for what was done centuries before we were here?



If you dont like where you are, or the people youre around, get out of there.
