My wait to start light quit working after changing the heater core. I can change it without disconnecting battery. The dash had bumped the ECM plug, but that was not the issue.
I disconnected the batteries to reset the ECM
I waited for a while after turning the key on until the WTS light came on.
Then I waited until it turned off to start the engine.
Every time I started the engine I waited for the WTS to cycle.
In about a day it was coming on soon after as I turned the key, but I still wait for it to turn off.
The more times I started it and waited for th eWTS, the sooner the WTS light came on, and now it is nearly immediately after I turn on the ignition.
I wonder if by not waiting for the WTS that I taught the ECM to not turn it on?
Everything is working fine now.
