The buzzer that normally sounds while the wait to start light is on quit buzzing on my truck. Is this anything I should be concerned with?I know the heater grid is working because when it's cool out like tonight was,it still cycles on and off as usual.
TIA for help.

Consider it a blessing to not have to listen to the chime. I don't know that mine ever chimed for wait to start, bought the trucks in the warm part of the year and disabled the chimes the next day.

vc,

The buzzer in my truck also sounds off when I turn on the key. I always assumed it was because I didn't have my seat belt fastened.

I wish mine would quit. I don't think it will be a problem as long as the heaters are still working.

The chime is extremely easy to disable,at least on a '95 others are probably the same. Follow the ding to a blue box under the dash. The box hinges open and there is a round metal disc inside about the size of a quarter, remove it close the lid you're done. Just unplugging the chime box makes some warning lights not work, better to just remove the baby gong.

I'm not sure the buzzer has anything to do with the heater grid. In cold weather the buzzer stops long before the light goes out.

Thanks illflem,I will now go outside in the snow on the first day of spring and see if this applys to my 96. It ain't supposed to snow in Alabama.

Seatbelt buzzer. Mine stops as soon as the belt is pulled. Since my belt does not always retract very well, sometimes I buzz and sometimes I dont.

I vote for its coincidental that the seatbelt buzzer and the heater grid go out about the same time, at least in colder weather.

I guess I had dual buzzers then because even after I put my seatbeltononly one buzzer would stop andanother wouldcontinue for a moment longer, and would go out with the waitlight. However,if it's really cold out,the second buzzer would quit a little bit before the light. Weird huh. Thanks guys.

My buzzer goes off as soon as I fasten my seat belt. This happens way before the wait to start light goes out (first start when cold). My truck is a 95 like illflem"s and I bought it new. Never had to disable anything.

David, the main reason I disabled my dinger is because sometimes I like to have to the doors open with music on. Most of the time the beat of the ding didn't go with my taste in music.

Removed my buzzer the day I bought the truck. I heard it buzz when I got it at the dealer and that was all I needed to hear. Got home, took off the lower dash panel and did some searching. I can still hear that wretched buzz in my nightmares.
