Which Adjustable Drop Hitch?

Car Hauler

IIRC, when I was contemplating my pickup vs C&C decision, in comparable trim the F-450 only had about 300 lbs higher payload than my 3500??? I would favor sharper cutting steer axle, and commercial grade rubber, though.
Tom, Yep I like the tighter cutting front tires... I forget that most of the time cuz the 3500 guys called me out on it once.... my Ram 5500 WB is 4inches longer than a Ram 3500, so the extra cut of the wheels gives the SAME minimum turning radius of a 3500. There's some folks here that fact check EVERTHANG. And good on them.

EDIT: Thought I'd throw some worthless info out there... A while back, my wife and I were considering buying a Frightliner Super C motorhome. In that discussion, my wife asked if I'd trade the 5500 for a 3500, and answer was NO. My 5550 is only about a foot longer (FACT CHECKERS,YOU'RE NEEDED) than a 3500, so I would have kept. All moot as we decided to keep wit we got.

Cheers, Ron

The Ram 3500 advertised payload is actually 270lbs higher than the F-450, but the F-350 beats them both. It's all skewed thou based on the limitation of a 14K GVWR.

The F-450 is heaver than the Ram 3500 and it only has 150lbs more axle capacity than the Ram so at the end of the day they are both capable of carrying the same weight if you don't worry about the GVWR and only look at axle capacities.

Correct me if I'm wrong....Doesn't the the 4500 - 5500 CC use a wide track front axle? if so all Ram would have to do is install that in a 3500 chassis and add the CC front fender flares to have something like the F450?

Yes, exactly. Give me the bigger wheels, brakes and tighter turning radius. ;)

Well, that probably makes sense. GM has a car like ride with its IFS. Until it hits max payload or anything extreme suspension angle.

I just assumed he was referring to the half ton segment, not many companies have all 3 big leagues in the HD class.
I was referring to HD's for the most part. We have all three in 3/4 gas versions. We have Ford and Ram in 1 ton versions. The ford diesel is a lot peppier than the Ram. We are only getting F450's no Ram 4500s

Edit: I work for the Guberment, we spare no tax payer expense :D
