Did you check the timestamp on that post? It's almost 2 days old. The other WalMart thread has been locked up already, and you know that. Keep stirrin the pot chump. :-laf

Leave the personal attacks off the boards and get back on topic before this one gets locked up, too.

I just changed my original fuel filter and it has Fleetguard Stratapore written right on it, so you are probably right that the Mopar oil filters are also Fleetguard. Just for the fun of it I am going to try removing the paint off an oil filter and see if there are any Fleetguard/Stratapore markings on it. I'll let you know.

I know about all the filter horror stories but in real life I've seen every filter and probably oil poured into these engines. Yet seen very very few engine failures, like two a year and I think all but one was a Killer Dowel Pin. That ONE was just plain ruined(whole truck)I only use Fleetguard but in a pinch I would use a top of the line who's ever until next oil change. Just my real world 02 worth. Known folkes who used Fram and who's ever bulk 10w30 oil and sell the truck with 185k still running fine.

lol too funny that's 100% right chinese crap anyone watch that pbs special on walmart outsourcing jobs to china. I couldn't believe how many people that have been put out of business by wally world. It's not right at all. But they are inexpensive. they said like 1,000,000 folks with good jobs manufacturing at plants around the country were put out due to the extreme buying power of walmart they can make the demands on products and in order to compete u have to build a factory in china or go out of business that simple

I get my Fleetguard filters at a local International dealer. They are actually less expensive than Cummins but my main motivation is location and the fact the people at the parts counter treat me like I buy a few thousand dollars worth of parts a month.

Darren,

Thanks for the compliments on the guys at the IH dealership... we trained 'em! :D :D

It makes us ol' retired guys proud to see our replacements doing a good job.

Anyone use their filter #ST3976A? "synthetic fiber enhanced media" single pass efficiency 98% multi pass 99%. Any idea who makes it?

Like they always told me as a kid at the cycle shop. . If you have a $3 head, buy a $3 helmet... Buy a case of Fleetgards and be done with it. Then you don't have to make excuses at the dealer when the filter comes apart...

Geno's Garage is selling Fleetguard-Oil/Standard filters (03-05 trucks) for $6. 95. They sell the Stratapore filter for $9. 95. For trucks 12v up to the 2002 24v the prices for microglass, standard and stratapore are between $4. 95 and $8. 95. So why pay wally $16 for a substandard filter when you can get a Fleetguard from Geno's for about half the price delivered to your door.

I checked out the Fleetguard website, but don't find detailed specs for LF16035 Stratapore.

Does this or the LF3972 filter have the combination full flow/by-pass filtration?

How fine do these filter to?
