Fuzzy Wuzzy

End of the world......

This was in an email I just received from a co-worker... I don't know if it's true or not... but it's funny!

BENTONVILLE, ARKANSAS--Wal-Mart customers will soon be able to sample a new discount item -- Wal-Mart's own brand of wine.

The world's largest retail chain is teaming up with Ernest &Julio Gallo Winery of Modesto, California, to produce the spirits at an affordable price, in the $2-$5 range.

While wine connoisseurs may not be inclined to throw a bottle of Wal-Mart brand wine into their shopping carts, there is a large market for cheap wine, said Kathy Micken, professor of marketing at Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI She said, "The right name is definitely important. "

So, here we go... The TOP 12 suggested names for Wal-Mart wine:

12. Chateau Traileur Parc

11. White trashfindel

10. Big Red Gulp

9. Grape Expectations

8. Domaine Wal-Mart "Merde du Pays"

7. NASCARbernet

6. Chef Boyardeaux

5. Peanut Noir

4. Chateau Des Moines

3. I Can't Believe It's Not Vinegar!

And the #1 suggested name for Wal-Mart wine:

1. Nasti Spumante

Matt

7. NASCARbernet

I resemble that remark.

How many of you have been to a NASCAR race? Why do people think NASCAR people are low-life, cheap, underpaid, trailer trash?

I spend about $3,000 a year for season passes and camping spots to attend races in Texas, Bristol, TN, and Kansas City. I have a $40k diesel truck to pull a $32k camper. I spend another $3,000 on food, souvenirs, travel to/from the races.

I ate steak everyday while at Bristol and Kansas City. Wasn't that hungry at Texas. The people next to me in the $453,000 motorhome at KC had Dom Perignon and crystal goblets. Towed a Cadillac Escalade.

I make over $100k/year and am College educated. I've been a computer professional for over 20 years.

The majority of the people that attend NASCAR races are upper middle class. Sure there are people there that pawned their kids Levis to attend the race, but they are just a fraction of the population.

Nascarbernet my A$$!!

NASCAR is a bunch of over rated hoopla... and yes, it is expensive. the driver with the biggest sponsors and the most money wins. It is not about how well a vehicle handles or how powerful an engine is, but is all about politics and sponsorship nowadays. Sure ain't nothing "stock" about "stock car racing" anymore. Heck, you can't even get a rear wheel drive, V-8 powered version of ANY of those cars they race these days. They are modeled after economy grocery getter family cars that, in stock trim won't even get out of their own way.

As for the wine, I like the #12!!!

:)

BTW, I am a redneck feller, but ain't wastin my time or money on nastycar!!

the only nascar races i usually watch are daytona 500 and the road races they have [sears point, glen, and when they did japan's suzuka]

i don't much care for IRL either... all they do is go around in circles... :(:( and cart is dying...

F1 is the way to go in my opinion...

Where was NASCAR born? Just which particular part of the country are those teams from... . ofcourse it's gotten bigger and a much wider range of people attend, but I'm talking 20 years ago before it was the fashionable thing to go blow your money on. I still watch it but would never waste the money to attend, I quit the NHRA thing too because of the money.

Rich folks have taken the sport and ran with it, I'll wait until there done screwing it up, maybe one day it will return to it's roots.

If you're going to argue that it is not a redneck sport, well c'mon you must just like to argue then. I grew up watching it, Bobby Allison and Davey Allison are my heroes, but now I'm almost ashamed of what's become of it.

I like swamp buggy racing, it hasn't become fashionable yet!

Look at horse racing, it has a huge range of demographical representation and has for a century!

There are a lot of things that have evolved away from their roots. NASCAR is one of those. Moonshine, dirt tracks, swinging fists (except for Jimmy Spencer) was the norm 40-50 years ago.

It's big business. I think, that like a lot of big business, it will be humbled one day by it's extreme costs.

Our country has evolved away from it's pioneer adventurer coonskin hat roots.

I enjoy the live races and the atmosphere. Texas is a great place to go and see some alcohol laced Chevy vs. Ford truck pulls in the parking lot too! But as most things, these are the minority and not the character of the entire operation.

I'll pick up a bottle next time I go to a Wal-Mart. Being from Wal-Mart home office territory, I'll check it out with some of my pals that work there.

The NHL is a good example of this. I've been enjoying this season as much as I can, because I think it will also be the NHL's last from the way things look.
