Walker Muffler 21838

I'm getting ready to have the 21838 walker muffler put on this week. Its a 4in in and out and 40" overall length. It states its a heavy duty muffler. Any objections??

Well i guess ill have to change my sig. The muffler is on and really quiet down the truck. The turbo still sings and has a little grunt when i put my foot through the floor.

What kind of muffler did you have on before? I'm curious how quiet it is and if you'll see any improvements in egt or power.

I started with the magnaflow and thought that sounded to much like an import. I then went to straight pipe which sounded good down low but had too much drone between 2000-2200 rmps. Now i have this big can installed and it seems to be a replica of the stock muffler. I dont know if it will make any difference in power. I think the egt's are the same. I will post more on my return trip to VA.

Well its overall length is 40" and 8 and some change in diameter. The muffler is straight through. It looks like to 20in mufflers welded together. The sound is similar to stock when cruising. when you get on it you get a little growl. I took it out on the highway yesterday and the egt's were about the same pre turbo (550-600) At 72mph. It took all of 2 minutes to cool down to about 295.

Well i still have the same walker muffler on and I the similiar to stock sound hasnt changed. I do miss the straight pipe for the in and around town driving. But overall i can live with this muffler.

one8upcb, where about did you find that muffler. I, like you, have a magnaflo on now, but sounds a little rice grinder-ish. I sure would like to go back with close to stock sound. Don't like straight pipe, too much drone. On the inside of the muffler are there like scallops or is it a drilled muffler, or are there baffles. One more thing what about turbo whine out the exhaust?

I purchased the muffler at the local napa while i was on leave in missouri. the muffler is a straight through design. if i remember correctly it was drilled. When im driving i still hear a good amount of turbo whistle. And everytime i pass someone i get all looks so they are hearing something. I also dont have the silencer ring.

do you know if they make shorter ones? i need to find something for when i set my stack up. id rather have a straight through stack vice baffels... .
