Just order a straight pipe and install it for much cheaper. You'll hardly notice the difference. The turbocharger is an EPA-DOT certified muffling device.

I have the Walker 21468 on my truck. I scavenged the muffler from a friend who went to full 4" so I didn't pay for it. I think he gave something like $70 for it though. Sounds good on my truck, I have too many valves now but its a little more mellow than my 96 was with a straight pipe. Sounds real cool in tunnels and next to walls.

The NAPA part number for Walker mufflers is exactly the same as Walker's. I recently bought a Walker 21471 from NAPA, cost me $115 including tax with my commercial discount. I think they said the regular price was $130 plus tax.

Firedude,

Here are some specs to chomp on from J. D. previous investigation:

Walker#

21468 6x22. 5 case, 29. 5" long, 3" in/out
21471 7x28. 5 case, 35. 5" long, 4" in/out
22572 9x20. 5 case, 27. 5" long, 4" in/out

On my 98, I put the 22572. The body diameter is just a bit to big for a perfect fit, and will contact frame components with a gutted cat in place too. You can fab it in anywhere in line if you remove the cat altogether. If you want to keep the cat and put the muffler on behind and want the 21468, you can use an adapter to go from the cat 4" to muffler 3" using Walker# 41563 reducer.

Hope this helps,

Steve.

I talked to Walker yesterday - the 21471(straight thru,no open cavity in the center) is the best flowing of all their mufflers. They have a new glasspack(16"x6")4" straight thru. I got the 21471 wholesale for $70. 52. I think I'll try it straight for a spin around the block before I put the muffler on! Craig
