I have had my truck aligned at the dealership twice, and the truck still moves to the right going down the road. it's not bad, but is annoying on a long trip. the dealership says everything is within specs. and I rotate the tires every oil change. it's never been in a front end accident and it's a 2WD. doesn't matter if the tires are new or worn.

You might ask the dealer what cross-caster setting is in the truck. Cross-caster (the difference in caster between the left and right wheel) is normally dialed into the truck to make it pull slightly to the left if you run it on an absolutely flat surface - this compensates for road crown. The truck will pull toward the side with the least (most negative) caster. If it's pulling right, it may not have enough cross-caster. This is, of course, assuming that the other alignment settings are right and that there's nothing wrong in the rear (tire pressures, etc. ) that could be causing the pull to the right.

Also, check to see if you have a thin spacer between the right front wheel and hub. If so, you can remove it or even shift it to the left side. This is a band-aid used by Dodge for "pulling" complaints - the truck will pull toward the side with the spacer.

What year is it? They had problems with this a few years back.

I had a 95 that I bought new and after 10 months of them trying to fix they ended up taking it back and giving me a new 96. You may find a TSB on the problem.

Ron,

Was your 95 a 4x4 (I see that your 96 is)? The truck in question is a 2WD (4x2).

Yes the 95 was a 4X4. As I recall that did not matter. Some had it some did not. Some were real bad and some would do it only part of the time.

Even with my 96 I have felt a slight pull. Not very often at all though. Last year I put the EGR pads, rotors and calipers on it and it has gone away completly!

What year is your truck?
