Very interesting..... now I just need to find some UN-poor sap... I mean nice fellow... . who would like to sell me their stock CD receiver or CD/Tape combo (HOT option... ) for a nice price. :D

Any ideas if the premium (i. e. Infinity) models are compatible with older trucks... like my '94? I know some of the newer trucks have tweeters in the pillars..... not sure if this is an issue or not...

Matt,

I don't know about the older trucks, but mine doesn't have the Infinity speakers or tweaters, but the Infinity deck plugged right in no problem.

Thanks Dave... .

I think I may just give it a try..... if all fails... . I'll just sell the deck if it doesn't fit... .

Now... . I want the 'super-duper nice one'... . CD/Tape/Infinity/lighted graphic EQ... hehe :D

The newer units even fit the old Gen1 trucks and plug right in. I put one in my 89 that someone gave me from a 98 or 99. But the tape deck was broken!

jsimpson and everyone else:

Yer local (or maybe it's loco) D-C parts dept. can send it in for repair. What usually happens is that you end up with an exchange radio, the same as what you gave 'em. I'm not sure, but I believe that it's a flat-rate exchange. Correct me if i'm off base.

Too late for me; I sold it at the Turkey rod Run for ten bucks! But I like what I'm running now - especially the steering wheel remote!:D

CD/Tape w/ EQ + speakers

Sittin' in a box for a year. Soon it will become a classic and start gaining in value. (jk) Any good offer works for me. Contact me at -- email address removed --
