I need info on a fuel tank for spare tire area under truck I found in a forum search TRANSFER FLOW but its to much$$$$ my truck is only 3 weeks old and I have been installing new parts each weekend to make it my truck I quietely read each post to try to learn about this truck but I need help on this thanks

A lotta guys like Transfer Flow's here, but they are pricey I think. I bought an Aero, Diamond Plate in-the-bed tank, mostly because I could drive to the factory and save the $150 or so shipping cost. If anyone near you fabricates tanks, you might save a bundle having them do it. I installed mine myself, rigging it up with a big NAPA fuel filter/water separator and a little in-line pump and an electric solenoid valve. I put a switch and indicator light on my dash and it works great.

I think crawford is askin for the same thing i'm thinkin' about... an "under the bed" tank", which you guys aren't talkin'about. I've looked at aero as well, but I have a short bed and would still like at least a 60 gallon capacity. I'm not really interested in an R&R bed tank and want it to be permanent as well.

My only comment to crawford is... doin' it right means not drilling the frame... aside from that, I expect it's gonna be a shade pricey, so it better bump up the capacity to where I need it. There was one other company putting together an aftermarket tank, but they e-mailed me and said it wasn't approved yet, and when it was, was only going to be 54 gallons total. Not really worth 800 bucks in my book.

Aero deals in "under the bed" tanks mostly. I just noticed they don't have any thing listed for the later model SB Dodge trucks though. They have them for the Fords. Its not fair.

The GM trucks are factory only installs... no ship. I wonder why?

I have built my own tanks for the bed of my last 3 trucks... ... However..... I'd buy the transfer flow if I couldn't make it.....

Remember - I'm betting they have to meet federal emmission standards with their product and with changes to the fuel system they have a nice insurance bill they have to pay... .

When I was working in a shop that built bridge cranes we figured that 15% of the value of the crane went to insurance and cover your *ss... kind of stuff... . in 30 years of operation they never had a problem..... yet the insurance guys loved them.....

Think about what it must cost to cover your *ss when you change the fuel system... .
