Leaving trailer plugged in

New 5th wheel is due in a few weeks. I want to get a cover on it right away to keep sun, bird-doo, and dirt (black streaks) off. Want it to be breathable, to prevent mildew. Want it to have a good tie-down system to minimize flapping (chaffing) against the unit. Easy on/off and door access are also preferred.

What is a good brand/style to get? Where should I shop? TIA!

Thanks for the link. I wonder if that one might be "abrasive" on the inside. The area in my yard where I will keep it is pretty exposed to the wind. Don't want it to rub the paint off after a few years. Do they make them with a "soft" liner? Will wear be a problem (does anybody have horror stories)? Another question, are these something that need to be replaced every few years or so?

cover

I bought one from Camping World, paid about $200+ on sale for 28', looked like the one in the link... but they had several different qualities/prices available in the store, you have to look in person.

Lasted about two years. Leaving the slides out started some small tearing at the corners, (yes, I tried padding the edges) the last big storm this year finished it off...

(I guess I should add we don't get any real storms here, 20-40 mph winds would be big for us!)

It was just too big to take on and off easily, so I just left it on. I could have repaired the small rips when they started... would have lasted longer, but I think the fabric was starting to weaken from the sun anyway.

Didn't notice any abrasion problems, very soft inside. They come with zippers for the doors & adjustable straps.

Would I do it again? No. (This year I'm going to try to get a carport type cover up, we'll see. )
