Sean, I'm thinking seriously of purchasing one of your leveling kits. Is the ride going to be the same, better, or more harsh?

Good deal. As for the "level" look. I don't care for it, never have. I like the stock rake of the pickup just fine; and I'd want to maintain it for looks and for function (aerodynamics). Even another inch or two in the back wouldn't bother me. So, my lift plan is to clear 37's in the front with a 5/6" and do at least the same in the rear. These should have some real world feedback in time for me to decide. Thanks.

I just put some 37s on mine. I have the IR coils and the rest of the goodies up front. I do have some fender rub while flexing. I plan on resolving that tomorrow with some TLC and a hammer. Actually just making some room on the bottom corner of the fender. They also hit the control arms, I will limit that travel also.

The rear will be softer with the Bilstien 5100's and the mini pack once you get into the travel a bit. The initial harshness will still be there because the Mini packs don't change that. The Bilstiens are softer on the compression side as well. It's not a caddy but will remove the kick when your 3-5" into the travel and the secondary kicks in. It's really hard to control the energy that big thick seconday can store. If you want a softer ride out back, you'd want the new Dual Purpose Leafs. The Initial spring rate is knocked down, until the secondaries kick in. With the bumpstops removed and unladen, the new leafs become softer than the OEM's. With the bumpstops in place you get a higher spring rate than the OEM's, and you get it alot sooner in order to carry your load with more stability and less rear end sag.

The front will come up about 2" and it will have about the same ride as stock, even with the 6% HD coil. The 22% HD coil will have a slight stiffer ride. If you have a winch, a heavy bumper, or an ocassional snow plow up front, you'll like the extra spring rate.

Here's a pic to help define terms.

The Mini Packs only replace the OEM Secondary Leaf or "Chunk of Steel", as I called it.

You can "Pull" the Rear Bedsides if you want that bubbled look of Glassed fenders out back. It's a pretty common thing among the Toyota and Ranger crowd. Im not sure if the front would "Pull" as well as the rears. You can try first... :-laf

I think EricB "pulled" or was going to "Pull" his bedsides on a Second Gen(not sure of his TDR sig)...

the rear looks good, same width tire. But I will cycle it to make sure.

The front fender rear corner is the closest. Just a little bend and it sould be good.

I have no experience or knowledge in suspensions so the folks on this forum are speaking in an alien tongue. But, I am interested in making my 2006 3500 Laramie 2wd ride like my Lexus. Sounds like you have some solutions. Thanks in advance for you suggestions in layman's language.

What about us 2nd gens!!!!???? :)

If I could just get my tank to ride like a 3rd gen I would be happy...

My plan is to have the Dual Purpose Leafs available for 2wd's, 2nd gens, and other 1 Ton Trucks in the future. At this point in the game, I'm a little hesitant in just going for it, and shooting for far reaching endeavors that don't have a proven pool of buyers. This type of "build it and they will come philosophy" has put plenty of Businesses so far in the red, that they can't see straight. They start to cut corners only to fall to their demise. This isn't in my game plan.

How about you guys carry the flag for your type of truck. Start another thread, test the waters, and get as many guys as you can together for a group buy. The type of Truck with the most respondents and serious buyers gets the new leafs built for them at a great introductory price.
