I'm the happy owner of 3 Dodge trucks. One is a "minty" 1971 Dodge D200 with a commercial body that we're using at the wife's business, then I have my beloved clunker, also a 1971 Dodge longbed stepside pickup that looks like it belongs on the boneyard with several layers of peeling paint (but I wouldn't sell it for $20K), and finally I have my 1992 D250 Club Cab that looks much older than it is because I backdated it a bit.

I love that Cummins truck, and will probably keep it forever, but I'd love to convert it to a stepside bed. I measured my '71's bed and it looks like it should be a super easy fit. The only thing that might need some customizing is the fuel filler neck. My question: has anyone of you ever seen or heard of somebody converting a 1st. Gen. to a stepside?

i have a 76 d150 with a stepside and stacks if you need pics and measurements, or i might be talked into selling it or parting io out if my wife lets me (was her truck).

Here is what id do and its not that hard or exspensive to do either

If your abel to find a 61 to 71 long step side box , your half way home

note from a dodge , if not no big deal .

A good sheat metal shop canbent up all the metal for you then all you do is

bolt it to gether , you will need cross members made from channel iron ,or tube ,or if your real cheap hack the ones off your fleet box

then get the wood of your choice for the floor

for the fenders get repos from either LMC or jc Whitney ,or a bone yard

or one of the dual wheel conversion shops

on the filler neck simply move it to your location wanted , , you can have stainless or aluminium bent for this as well

If you dont have a sheat metal shop that can do it let me know i do
