Just getin back from FIL's place and we see this coming out of the bushes. Well do ya think that some tanked up cowboy mite take a shot. This is how hunting gets a bad rap. accident waiting to happen

Should he have flagged the rack with orange?



Side note, I have seen magazine pictures IIRC where they strap the rack on their back, don't remember safety orange on them, I would.

Honestly you would have to be pretty drunk to see that as anything but a rack on a pack horse. The hunter had orange on, which is more than I usually see.

I run with the antlers down and I try to cover with dry tarp on pack I dont care how much orange you can or cant see people will shoot at ANYTHING not so much in the mountains but people get a little gun happy when the see ELK CLOSE TO TOWN SHOOT THE M***** F***** dont have far to drag this one uncle goober One of my other post's shows the same thing and we know the guy. It's what ever turn's your nut I just dont like it up and showing if there is another way of doing it. REALLY NO ORANGE MORE THAN YOU NORMALY SEE THAT'S A HUGE FINE HERE HUGE!!!!!!!!!

I do carry some orange in my pack for some circumstances packing animals out.

No orange required in Nevada. When I got my bull, even though it wasn't a monster, we put pink flagging tape all over the thing and it was dark out when we packed it out. They were on my back with the head still intact. Some of the turkey hunting seat/packs have an orange blaze pull-out to cover Tom's tail. Safety, safety.

As an aside, I heard the other day that somewhere they were using a roadside robot deer to entice those less than ethical spotlight "hunters". The deer had to be retired after several thousand shots were absorbed. There are a lot of idiots out there who think the good old boy system should trump game laws.

This is the set up that we use only in Hunter Orange for at least the one or two that are packing antlers. These are nice you can carry and keep a bunch of frozen meat and keep it frozen for a few days just put some dry Ice rapped up in new's paper and put it in the bottom and slide another box into the other and over the dry ice put meat in cover with reg. ice and 2 hours later you have a giant block of ice with frozen what ever in the center of it. It really doesn't matter to me but the antlers down and swept back so as not to catch branches and WHIP THE HELL out of the horse in back. A few times of that and youll have some horse play in the string and youll have to pick up all the stuff that gets thrown off in the fight. How do I know Ive had to pick up all the stuff and retie. It gets old fast. These are water proof and in camp the two of them with a board across them makes for a nice table or bench or 2 seats. I tie with rope around the little notches in the end bottoms and the side bottoms on both and pull the box's away form the side's of the mules so they can breath and move without chaffing them. Anything I can do to make them happy the better they are the reason that we can get out so far that we dont get shot at and it cut's down on the compeiton as far as the game . And allways tie your top knot on top so if they drop in a hole or fall in a river crossing the untie knot is on top and you dont have to fish around the mule to find it hence the phrase KEEP A TAUGHT TOP KNOT

This is my POINT of this post People are so wacked out that shooting at a pack horse with antlers on it is NOT all that far fetched, I dont take chances when around others I dont know with guns.
