ooooo now that's cool, all they gotta do is build it

When Costco came to Albany, Or. and started selling gasoline, the prices all over town dropped by 10 to 15¢ per gallon to compete with Costco's prices. There could be more profit tacked onto diesel, so the price difference could be more. I think that if all us TDR people and others request that Costco carry diesel, and enough people request it, and Costco complies, we may be able to lower the price of diesel over most of the country. Wouldn't hurt to pass this on to other diesel truck and rv forums either.

Our local Costco refuses to sell diesel because they don't want the added congestion of truck traffic. Same with BJ's Wholesale.

I can't believe how long people wait in line to get gas at Costco... :rolleyes:

What's even funnier is watching the truck that makes the delivery, go to the local station less than 1/4 mile away and make a delivery, and they are charging much higher prices... #@$%!

They may change their mind if enough people ask. All they would have to do is have only a small nozzle. They don't get any of my business now because all my rolling stock is diesel.

Costco diesel.

I've asked the attendent numerous times to bring up the diesel subject to the Costco higher ups. They say they get inquiries all the time. Our Costco here receives six tanker loads a day. That's a lot of gas. I've never waited longer than five minutes. Due to the fires here,I filled up both Hondas this morning@$2. 99 a gallon. That's Costco's price here for reg. :{

Bajabob,

I filled my dodge and chevy up w/ diesel for 3. 44 yesterday over at the Shell at Los Coches and I-8. We are waiting to see if we will have to evacuate. Crest and Harbison is under voluntary, we are just below them.

Wal-Mart in my town starting selling diesel for about 10 cents cheaper, and it did bring lots of truck traffic in, they just fill up with the small hose. But I am still very happy they are selling diesel, and they sell alot of it.

Unless they already have the underground tanks installed, as well as the plumbing to the pump island, the installation cost is humongous - and they're sure not likely to drop one of the gasoline lines to switch over to diesel...

The local Mobil, (that I boycott on general principals ;) ) added diesel last summer. No new tanks, just relabeled the pump. It's just a little convenience / gas station. Their diesel price is always $. 10 above everybody elses! :eek:

Dry SoCal.

Best of luck s. b. Tanker planes were @Pt Magu@2:45p. m. today. Hopefully we'll see them in the sky soon. Firefighting crews and helicopters have been nothing short of heroic. Boy it's dry down here. Sucks! I'm in Clairemont and am praying that a pyro with a flare doesn't light up this corridor. It would be a straight shot to La Jolla. :{

Ditto for me. Any of the stations that are "gasoline only" never see me grace their door!

The local Ingles grocery store added a fuel island about a year ago. When it was under construction, I asked if they planned diesel and they said yes. I was happy to see the four tanks being installed, then a little disappointed to see that out of 6 "islands", only one has diesel! :mad:

BUT, the great news is their price is 20-30 cents a gallon cheaper BEFORE the 3 cent a gallon discount when using their card! It is $2. 79 before the 3 cent discount! :cool:

They have only the small gun on their lone diesel island. They sell damn near as much diesel as gas at this station, even though we often have to wait and the damn gassers have plenty of pumps.

One more gripe about their (and other similar setups) is they have ONE double sided pump that offers diesel and gas and 6+ that have gas only. The diesel ones should at the very least be DIESEL ONLY! It would eliminate some confusion and would keep minivan mommie from filling up her soccer star carrier at the one pump that offers diesel when there are 5 or 6 other ones that only dispense gas!!:-{}

Costco would do a huge business in Reno if they'd sell diesel. All you have to do is look in the parking lot. Tons of CTD, PS, & DM's all over the place. They could mark it so no big trucks can buy there if that's an issue. The Safeway where I go is now $3. 42. They told me when they opened they were going to be cheaper than anyone within a 3 or 5 mile radius. The AM/PM down the road is . 18 cheaper right now. Sounds like Safeway is giving up on being competitive. :mad: The truck stop in Sparks is almost . 20 cheaper for diesel. Usually, they are right about the same. I'm going to ask why the big difference now, not that the folks at the counter will know.

3. 49 a gallon here for the last 2 weeks. i just drive the gas car when im not working. cardlock. i dont like others pumping for me.

The Concord Costco manager is a friend of the family and I asked him about selling diesel. He said they had no plans for diesel because they do not want the commercial truck traffic. Sucks….

Sid

I just drove by the Safeway here. At $3. 51/gallon for #2, they're not going to get sued by anyone for being cheaper! They are now at least . 20 more than other diesel stations around.
