So, I still have my '02 2500 4x4 QC, paint is mostly gone from the roof of the cab and really bad on the hood, truck has almost 103,000 miles on it. Steering wanders, dash seems to be ready to fall apart, multiple cracks, AC doesn't work, and driver's side half door mostly won't open. I have a FASS direct replacement lift pump and relocation kit on hand, a steering box stabilizer, and a fuel pressure gauge. My problem is that with the interior issues, the paint issues, and the AC, all I see is $$ signs, it obviously hasn't been my daily driver for quite some time. I still change the oil every 6 months, and the fuel and air filter once a year, and it has new shoes. I don't want to be without a Cummins truck, I would like to restore this one, and even mate a better transmission than the 47RE, but I feel like I am looking at $10K or more to get this truck where I want it to be. Paint alone around here will run $3K, shudder to think what the AC will cost. Really want to get rid of the steering wander. If I could get it mechanically sound, it might be easier to cope with the amenities and cosmetics.
