2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Wanted: OEM Carter Lift Pump, Dead or Alive

When my first OEM lift pump died I replaced it with another OEM part and destructively disassembled the original piece just to see what had gone wrong. The pump motor ran as it was supposed to but the pump didn't pump. The problem was the built in relief valve; the ball had been pushed through the cone shaped spring and was no longer being seated so all the pump's output was going around in a circle and none was being delivered to the IP.

Now I want to try to make a retrofit relief valve for the OEM pump to improve the crummy original design. But I discarded the destroyed pump I originally opened. Anybody got an OEM pump they'd be willing to part with? I'll ship you the packaging stuff with a return address label and might even pay for a running pump.
