Wanted: opinions on either the Honda EU6500iS or EM6500SX generator

Greetings:



I'm looking at either the EU6500iS or the EM6500SX generators. For those that have or used these - any thoughts - good or bad?



I now have 2 EU2000's but need 240V for the well pump as the cheap Generac finally died. So I'm either going to keep the eu2000's and buy the EM or sell everything and just get the EU6500 to only have to maintain 1 generator.

In my opinion, your better off with 1 generator. Get 1 big enough, install a manual disconnect switch, and run the house. 1 machine to test run monthly, 1 machine to fuel and maintain= a lot fewer problems.

Figured I'd give an update on what was done. I purchased the Honda EU6500is generator and I LOVE it!! About 50 hours on it so far. I sold 1 EU2000i and will keep the other for now since it is handy to move around the property to operate a small hand tool.

Even though sound specs are about identical for the 2 the 6500 is much quieter overall due to several reasons.
- The gen is just idling along supplying power instead of at almost full throttle.
- There is only 1 gen making noise, not 2.
- The sound frequency is lower making it not as annoying as the smaller displacement motor.

Hope this helps someone for their future purchases.
