How many have bought DC's premium extented waranty ?
I drove 29,000 miles the first year(ending Oct 12)
I'm wondering if it is worth the $2000+ for the 4 year / 100,000 mile on the rest of the truck ?
(2500 4x4 Fifth wheel)

I took delivery on mine yesterday, and opted for the 'extended warranty'. For $1300, the truck's warranty is increased to 60/100K. Whenever I use it, it's a $50 deductible. If I don't use it before the 5 years are up, I get the $1300 back.

First they are very good i hear and cheap.

Beat up your favorite Dodge dealer for a "Diesel Wrap" warranty. Covers most of the big stuff for 100,000/60. Should be able to get the warranty for less than $1000. 00. If you never make a warranty claim, Dodge will give you your money back, minus $50. 00. If you are financing a new truck you can roll it into the package at . 9%. I know you are better off investing the $1000 somewhere for five years, some folks like the comfort factor the warranty provides.

There are a few good third party/aftermarket warranties, most of them will be more trouble than they are worth.

Do your homework before you spend your money.

I got the 7/70 plan with the purchase of my 01 2500. The dealer offered the extended plan for $513. 00 with the option if not used a refund minus the deductable would be issued. I couldn't pass it up. I think they goofed up on the price , i have never seen an extended plan so inexpensive but I have a signed copy for my records. 500 is cheaper than replacing a transmission or rearend (if something does go wrong).

whats this about getting the money back if you don't use it ? never heard of it , wasn't offered it , i paid $1350 for a 5/100k max care , $50 deductible . so $2000+ is a bit high to me #ad

It was offered to me at financing time:
* Cost = $1300
* Extends standard warranty to 60/100K
* Each use is a $50 deductible
* Don't use it, get the money back (don't
remember if it's "less $50")
* If I need warranty service while the
'standard' warranty (36/36K) is still in
effect, it doesn't count as 'using' the
extended warranty (so I can still get the
money back), because the 'extended'
warranty hasn't yet begun.

don , whats the name of this warranty package ? if its the same as i have , i may become my own warranty station just to save that 1300 bucks .

When I got my '01 Dodge was offering $1,000 cash back or 100K mile powertrain plus warranty. I took the warranty. Don't have the details handy on what all is covered.

I bought my 75,000 mile extended warranty on my 1996. I probably won't do it again. Most things that broke after the 36,000 mile warranty were not covered by the extended warranty anyway. What a joke. If it was covered I had to do the research and tell my dealer so. His standard answer was " that's not covered". I'm sure I will have to fight him about my fuel gauge sender that just went bad at 69,000 miles.

i got the max care which covers everything except , tires , oil brake shoes and the wipers ... i'm thinking of trying to cancel it due tothe latest BS and the fact that i have racked up 25k miles since januarry , got a 5 year and at this rate i will be thru it in 3 #ad

I got the 5 year 100,000 mile program( bumper to bumper) for 1200 with no deductible and I always get the extended plans for safty reasons and I have never heard if you do not use it you get your money back... I might check into that , thanks everyone.
I found if you shop around to all dealers you can in and out of your area, that that one with the lowest price should be accepted by your nearest dealer,,that is if they realy what you business. . one other extra hint make sure you check what you posicy says when you get it, my dearles sent me the 50. 00 dec. program and thought it would slide...

Mopar-muscle:

The brown-on-white copy of the "Service Contract Application" that I received says that my plan name is "ADD WRAP", plan code "DA5100", price $1390. 00. I added it to the 36 month . 9% financing.

Stapled to the front is a small pink slip, entitled "Service Contract Reimbursement Guarantee". It states "I hereby acknowledge that I am entitled to all of the benefits of the N. A. D. C program (reimbursement of purchase price) as stated on the reverse side of this document". On the reverse, it lists as the conditions of reimbursement: No claims paid on the service contract, non-transferable, and have to claim reimbursement within 60 days of expiration of contract.

If I have something fixed under the original factory warranty, then that doesn't count against me, as I'm not making a claim against the service contract.

After 5 years, I mail my claim for reimbursement to an address in Lakewood, CO. The pink slip specifically says "after the expiration date", not after the mileage limit. So, even if I hit 100K in 3 years, I still have to wait until 10/14/2005 to file my claim for reimbursement.

Hope this helps.

there have been many posts on this subject, check them out. IMHO, dealers are betting you won't have to use the extended warrenty, you are betting you will, (just like playing the slots in LV). Extended warrenty is almost 100% pure profit for dealer/supplier.

I would take your $2K put invest it in something turning a good return, if you have major work needed not covered by your original coverage, use that money, if not at end of the 5 years 100,000 take it out and spend it on something nice for you or the truck!!!
