New Member, First Post. I'd like to say is sure is great to be a part of TDR.

Just Finished installing new Optix Boost/EGT gauges. Installation went great and they work perfect. However, after returning from a test drive I noticed the EGT gauge face and bezel was warm to the touch. The boost gauge was the same as the ambient air in the cab. Is this heat from the Stepper Motor or should I be concerned? Anyone else with these gauges notice the same thing. Thanks for the help

Welcome Aboard!!!!

The area around the light (backside of gauge) on my Autometer EGT gauge is "browned" from heat. It looks like it's from the light, but who knows. Mine gets warm too.

That would have been my first thought also but it was during the day and the gauge lights are tied into the dimmer switch- I didnt have the lights on.

I would venture to say the heat you noticed is from the stepper motor. The industrial stepper motors I use tend to put off a some heat.
