By the way, that was the white Excursion that weighs 8,000+ pounds.

PSD + WRX = ??

Matt

I asked him who would have won on the 1320 track, and he said that he wouldn't bet on either one because it was that close. to call.

What more do you want???

I wanna know about the Excursion... .

Drugs? Race weight? 4x4 launch? 60ft. time? 1320 E. T. /mph. ?

And last but not least - the brand of JATO rocket he attached to the roof to make that behemoth go down the 1/4 mile in less than 20 seconds.

Matt

Well they have never raced it at the 1/4 in a serious manner because it is a 4x4 X, and it is lifted. It's rear end, and tires give it a final ratio of around 3. 44, which keeps it right there in that torque curve of the power stroke. This was at a stop light that the incedent happen. One of those, "ok the light is green, lets go, oh wait a minute, we're in a race?!?!, ok, lets REALLY go"

Power Strokes are really just starting to be turned up like the Dodges a couple of years ago. Most of you guys would be suprised.

Andrew

At least they are diesel..... that's about all the credit I can give a PSD.

Injectors are INSANELY priced... . you could do twins on a CTD for what they get for 'em... . no wonder they all run propane, that's the cheapest way to get more fuel in one of those.

The heavy-duty truck market got rid of V-X diesels in the early to mid 80's... . there's a reason for this, which I don't need to go into right now.

Don't get me going on all the bad stuff about PSD's... . Like I said... at least they run on #2 (although, that's not all they need to run in the same ballpark as a CTD..... )

Matt

All this talk about ricers is getting me sick!!!

Yes some of them are impressive, but I highly doubt a 1000hp ricer is able to be a daily driver. Anything can be "steet driven"

Someone a page or so back was dogging BB chevys and how a high HP one isn't very streetable/reliable WELL I've got a N/A 675hp 9:1cr 540 that I will hold at 5800rpm for miles across a lake!! Take a look at the marine market, there are 1000hp blower motors that you can beat the snot out of for hours and are turnkey !

If those 1800hp ricer motors where that good why aren't they in boats ? A marine environment is the

toughest test on a motor, one of those little motors would grenade within a mile of shore !

I think the fact that I actually saw "the fast and the furious" really ruined the ricer craze for me:D I can't believe I admitted to seeing it !:{

The only reason I watched that p. o. s. flick was for the old Charger they had in it. It really p'd me off that they rolled it,what a waste. My favorite part was when V. D. was asked why he didn't drive it"cause it scares the ***** out of me" ... Doug

We have one local customer here in Vegas that has run 15. 7x with his Excursion on 37's with stock 3. 73 gearing. Leaves in 4-hi, but I don't know his 60'. Truck made 34xhp/700ft-lbs with injectors/box/exhaust. FYI.

This truck did 15's on stock injectors.

Here is the pic... .

The guy said his truck weighs in at 7955# without him and about 1/2 tank of diesel.

With his tires, he's down to a 3. 12 effective ratio. If he were to keep it, I think he'd put some gears in it... but his 1000hp Supra is taking more of his time at the drag strip now. :D

Gotta love the high HP Supra 2JZ engines... .

Those are pretty good #'s for a truck that heavy and with the aerodynamics of an 8' high shoebox.
