I was at the dealer yesterday and I'am in very good standing with them and their diesel mechanic, he's friends son and we'er like family.
He was telling me that DC has put out notice about modified vehicles. He said that if the dealership is caught at cheating on warranty coverage on modified vehicles that the mechanic will be sued, the dealership will be fined and black flagged plus some other reprocussions I do not remember.
To me it sounds like DC is cracking down on the dealerships that might turn a blind eye to modifications, or at least making it harder for dealerships to make marginal warranty claims. Even if a dealership wants to help their hands are being cuffed by DC.
One more thing, to the guys that say their programmers or boxes are undetectable, rubbish to that claim. My friend/mechanic was showing me things on the starscan that DC can use to deny warranty claims. He also told me that the dealership has to send in this recorded data if asked for by DC.
