Hello Folks,

It's been awhile since my last post so I hope everyone is doing well. Now to my question. I had both rearend axle seals replaced at 45k miles under warranty at the dealer and now both are leaking again pretty bad at 71,923 miles. My original warranty was 7/70. Do you think the dealer will fix this problem or will I have to pay out of my pocket? Also, does anyone know of a good diesel mechanic in the Huntsville, Alabama area? As usual, thanks for your help and comments.

sometimes if you talk to the sevice manager he will help you out. because it has been a pre existing condition. my not take care of the entire bill but may pay for the parts if you pay the labor.

The 7/70 is treated as if it were a service contract. The expiration date or miles are the end... ... ..... Sorry. I would be looking to find the cause of the repeat failure... ... ... . running too hot or heavy?

Since purchasing the truck new, I have only pulled about 7000lbs to Mississippi and back, one time. Other than that mostly highway miles at 72 mph.

i have a 07 with the 5. 9 and i was wondering if i could take the cat off and not void the warranty. i have talked to a couple diff ppl and it goes both ways some say that u can take the muffler off and not void it but taking the cat off will. one guy told me that it wont void ur warranty and it dosent have to be on there if your area dosent require a e-check.

Probably not a wise move... ... ... . it is a federal offense to tamper with emmissions so you will be giving them a big lever to use against you ;)

now what about a "test pipe"? i thought about cutting the cat and getting a piece of pipe and using band clamps to put it in. that way i could put it back. i have stock fueling right now so i dont need the extra flow but i am curious to see the difference.

You may see a slight change in EGT's more noise but I doubt you will have much power gain. A few hp is very hard to feel.

You're not going to see or feel any difference at all.

Just an up date: the dealer replaced the axle bearings and seals under ia n-house warranty. That sure makes me happy! Anyhow, have a great day and thanks for your replys.
