Does anybody know if the lift pump is 3/36000 or 5/100000? just curious cause mine is headed south. It's only running 2 lbs on the freeway.

I believe it depends on if the dealer feels like being honest. Ive heard of dealers claiming the injection pumps are not part of the engine so they are 3/36. Which is a complete lie. If they steer you wrong find another dealer and report the fibbers.

If you want to get technical the lift/transfer pump in this Eng application is consider an emission control component. If the lift pump is not running right that means the Injection pump can not run right either producing pollutants into the air. I believe the warranty on emission control items is 100K/5yrs. Pablo

Thanks guys

Hard to believe but a TDR rally host dealer here in southern Cal. Is telling me that it is not covered by the 5/100000. Cost me 50. 00 to get it fixed (deductible). Guess it's time to look for a new Warranty station.

I guess some times it comes down to how good is your dealer in trying to keep your business and reputation. As you all know already Dodge has their ways in warranty and we (Cummins Cal Pacific) have ours. I hope some day Cummins realizes that they should pick up on the warranty but with the inrcease of Eng cost to Dodge and then past on to us we might complain about the higher cost. How much more are we willing to pay for a truck that can be warranty at Cummins (for Eng problems only)???

I have a 2000 and my warranty book states that it is covered under the 7 year 70K mile emissions warranty. Go fiqure???
