Hey Im picking up a 2003 CTD in TX Sunday. It only had 40K miles on it. What do I have to do to transfer the warranty into my name. Is there any fees or does the seller have to sign something? I dont want a PITA.
When I bought my 99 used, I seem to remember that I had to send in papers for the transfer of warranty. And I am not sure, but I think it cost me $50 to do it too. But, as it turned out, it was the best move I made .
If your warranty is from DC like mine was, just go to a dealer and pay the $50 transfer fee and they will put it in your name and give you a printout of all the warranty, or recall work done as well as any restrictions that might be on the truck. I got my new warranty policy in the mail in about 2 weeks.
Yes, take your bill of sale or title and truck to a dodge dealership and they will handle the transfer of the remaining factory powertrain warranty over the computer for you. I believe the transfer amount is $150.
